五剣山 – Mt. Gokenzan

318年前の今日、江戸時代、1707年10月28日におきた『宝永地震（ほうえいじしん）』。五剣山にあった5つの峰が、崩落により4つになりました。

On this day 318 years ago, during the Edo period, the Hoei Earthquake struck on 28 October 1707. The five peaks of Mount Gokenzan (The meaning of Five-Peaked Sword Mountain. The mountain’s name derives from its five peaks.) collapsed, leaving only four.
