栗林公園の桜が見頃ということで行ってきました。栗林公園には香川県の開花日を告げる桜の標本木のほか、全部で350本の桜が植わっています。

香川県高松市は、日本一の松盆栽の産地。松盆栽の全国シェアはなんと約8割！香川県を代表する大名庭園 栗林公園 にも美しく剪定された松の木がたくさん植わっています。ぜひこの季節、栗林公園に桜を見に行かれたら、こんな風に堅牢な松の木と、柔らかな桜の木の対比を楽しんでみてください。毎年見慣れた桜の風景も、ちょっと違って見えると思います。

Ritsurin Garden is a landscape garden in Takamatsu City, built by the local feudal lords during the early Edo Period. There are 350 cherry blossom trees in the Ritsurin garden. Kagawa pref. is the main production area of pine bonsai. In this season, you can see and enjot pine trees and cherry trees


3月にはこの梅林が見頃でした。来るたびに違う表情をみせてくれます。

この木は、香川県の桜(ソメイヨシノ)の標本木。
高松地方気象台により毎年桜の開花と満開の時期が観測され、
平年では、3月30日が香川県の開花日となっています。
園内では、ソメイヨシノやエドヒガンなど約350本の桜があります。

This cherry blossam (sakura) is continually observed every year,
and it is used to predict when the flower-viewing season in Kagawa will begin.
There are 350 cherry blossom trees in this garden.

Ritsurin Garden – Japan Guide

Ritsurin Garden is a landscape garden in Takamatsu City, built by the local feudal lords during the early Edo Period. Considered one of the best gardens in Japan, it is often suggested that Ritsurin Koen deserves a spot on the list of the “three most beautiful gardens of Japan” alongside Kanazawa’s Kenrokuen, Mito’s Kairakuen, and Okayama’s Korakuen.

The spacious park features many ponds, hills, historic trees and beautiful pavilions divided into a Japanese style garden in the south and western style garden in the north. The gardens are set in front of wooded Mt. Shiun which serves as a wonderful background and great example of borrowed scenery.
