【香川】仏生山温泉 天平湯 – [Kagawa] Busshozan hot spring

ことでん仏生山駅から徒歩10分のところにある素敵な温泉、仏生山温泉 天平湯。夜12時までやっている (受付は夜11時まで)ので瀬戸内国際芸術祭などで香川にくることがあったら、ぜひとも寄ってほしい温泉です。建物の空間も、肌がすべすべになる泉質も、そしてスタッフの雰囲気もとても心地良い。

There is fantastic hot spring “Busshozan Onsen” at Busshozan town, Takamatsu city, Kagawa pref., Japan. It takes 30 min from Takamatsu sta. by local train and foot. If you come to Takamatsu city, I strongly recommend you the hot spring.

仏生山（ぶっしょうざん） (香川県高松市仏生山町前池) Busshozan (Maeike pond, Busshozan town, Takamatsu city, Kagawa pref.)

1989年（平成元年）、金沢大学の重力異常調査チームにより、地下に眠る巨大クレーターが発見されました。仏生山公園を中心に直径約4km・深さ約2kmに広がる半球体で、その内部には香川県の年間降水量に相当する、およそ20億トンもの地下水を蓄えていると推測されるものでした。その成因は、約1,400～500万年前に起こった瀬戸内海火山活動の時にできたカルデラ説が有力とされています。

In 1989, a huge crater lying underground was discovered by the Kanazawa University gravity anomaly research team. The crater is a hemisphere with a diameter of approximately 4 km and a depth of approximately 2 km, centred on Fushozan Park, and is estimated to hold approximately 2 billion tonnes of groundwater inside, equivalent to the annual precipitation of Kagawa Prefecture. The theory that the caldera was formed during volcanic activity in the Seto Inland Sea approximately 14-5 million years ago is considered to be the most likely cause.

仏生山クレーター5座と呼ばれる高松平野の低山。この山々のしたに仏生山クレーターがあります。1億年前にできた花崗岩を貫くように、1400万年前のマグマ由来の安山岩が貫いて山頂付近を覆っている火山岩頸（かざんがんけい）という地形です。
