香川の山は『まんが日本昔ばなし』に登場するようなおむすび山 – The mountains of Kagawa are like the rice ball mountains that appear in ‘Manga Nippon Mukashi Banashi’ (Old Tales of Japan).

香川の山は『まんが日本昔ばなし』にでてくるような、おむすび山。それもそのはず『まんが日本昔ばなし』の演出・作画・美術を手掛ける童絵作家の池原昭治さんは香川県高松市出身。幼き頃からみていた香川の風景が原風景となり、池原さんの世界に反映されているのかもしれません。高松のローカル鉄道ことでんと、讃岐平野らしいぽっこりとした山をあわせて撮影。写真は、讃岐七富士のひとつ、羽床富士（はゆかふじ）こと堤山（つつまやま）です。

The mountains of Kagawa are like the rice ball mountains that appear in ‘Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi’ (Japanese Folk Tales in Manga). This is no surprise, as Shoji Ikehara, the illustrator who is responsible for the direction, animation, and art of ‘Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi,’ is from Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture. The landscapes of Kagawa that he saw from a young age may have become his original scenery and reflected in his world. The photo combines the local railway in Takamatsu, Kagawa, and the rounded mountains characteristic of the Sanuki Plain. The mountain in the photo is Tsutsumayama, also known as Hayuka Fuji, one of the Seven Fuji Mountains of Sanuki.
