【小豆島 3/29-5/10】瀬戸内海を泳ぐ鯉のぼり『旧戸形小学校』 – [Shodoshima island 3/29-5/10]Carp streamers in the Seto Inland Sea. ‘Former Togata Primary School’

小豆島には瀬戸内海を泳ぐ鯉のぼりがあります。旧戸形小学校のある海岸は、ウミガメの産卵地になるほどの美しい海です。ここに、5月の端午の節句にあわせて鯉のぼりが泳ぎます。もともとは小学校の新入生を迎えるために毎年掲げられていた鯉のぼりですが、2005年に廃校になったあとは地域のボランティアの皆さんによって引き継がれています。映画『八日目の蝉』にも登場します。

岸から約80mの海の上を泳ぐ約30匹の鯉のぼり。地域の方たちがボランティアで1990年に開始し、2005年に戸形小が閉校となった後に地元自治会が引き継いでいます。家庭で使っていない鯉のぼりがあれば、提供を呼びかけています。連絡：0879-62-0108（戸形公民館 / 平日8:30～17:00）。5月6日(月・祝)まで。

Shodoshima island has carp streamers swimming above the Seto Inland Sea. The beach where the old Togata Primary School is located is so beautiful. It is a spawning ground for sea turtles. It is here that the carp streamers swim in time for the Boys’ Festival in May. The carp streamers were originally put up every year to welcome the new students of the primary school, which was closed down in 2005. Now they are taken over by volunteers from the local community. Also featured in the film Cicadas of the Eighth Day.

30 carp streamers swim over the sea about 80 m from shore. Ukrainian flags are also flown. until 6 May 2024.
