というわけで、同じプロセスでつくられた1/1スケールの建築オブジェ。
場所はAA Schoolの前のBedford Square。
AA School Design Research Labの10周年記念コンペの優勝作品。
設計は、Alan DempseyとAlvin Huang。
上のパビリオンは合板を白く塗装したもので、
下のパビリオンはコンクリートを繊維で強化したような素材。
交差するリブ状パーツを、ジョイントで結合するシステム。
コンペの要項が、通常外装材として使われるこの繊維強化コンクリートを
構造材として使うということだったようです。
ちなみに屋根がないので雨宿りはできません。
巨大な家具。ランドスケープ・ファニチャーといったところでしょうか。
近年、こういう形態の建築がプロの建築家や学生の間でよく見られます。
三次元CG技術と実施設計・制作の溝がなくなってきたからなんだろうな。
建築の流行。10年後、50年後にこの時代を振り返ったらどう思うのかな。
