湊川河津桜まつり延期のお知らせ。河津桜まつりは、今月3月22(土)23日(日)に延期することになりました！3月15日(土)16日(日)に開催された河津桜まつりですが、当日の天気や桜の開花状況などを考慮し、今週末もお楽しみいただけます✨引き続き、お弁当や野菜・苺の販売、キッチンカーも来る予定です。
ご注意❕湊川河津桜ロードは、おまつり開催当日の8:00～17:00の間、通行止めとなります。指定駐車場をご利用ください。駐車場では1台につき協力金を100円いただきます。また駐車台数に限りがありますので、当日お越しの際は可能な限りお乗り合わせの上、ご来場ください。

Notice of postponement of the Minatogawa Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival. The Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival has been postponed to 22 (Sat) and 23 (Sun) March this month! The festival was held on 15 (Sat) and 16 (Sun) March, but taking into account the weather and the blooming of the cherry trees on those days, it will still be enjoyed this weekend. Lunch boxes, vegetable and strawberry sales and kitchen cars will continue to come to the festival.
Please note❕Minatogawa Kawazu Cherry Blossom Road will be closed to traffic between 08:00 and 17:00 on the day of the festival. Please use the designated parking areas. A cooperation fee of 100 yen per car will be charged at the car park. Parking is limited, so please bring as many vehicles as possible on the day of the festival.

香川県東かがわ市白鳥の湊川（みなとがわ）の河川敷。早咲きの桜、河津桜（カワヅザクラ）約80本の並木道があります。3月頭から中旬まで、鮮やかなピンク色に彩られ、多くの人が訪れています。

Riverbed of the Minatogawa River, Shirotori, Higashikagawa, Kagawa. From early to mid-March, the riverside is lined with some 80 early-blooming Kawazu cherry trees, which are coloured bright pink and attract many visitors.

カワヅザクラ – Wikipedia

カワヅザクラ（河津桜、学名：Cerasus × kanzakura ‘Kawazu-zakura’）は、バラ科サクラ属のサクラ。日本固有種のオオシマザクラ (Cerasus speciosa (Koidz.) H.Ohba, 1992) とカンヒザクラ (Cerasus campanulata (Maxim.) Masam. & S.Suzuki)の自然交雑から生まれた日本原産の栽培品種のサクラ。

樹高は亜高木、樹形は傘状。一重咲きで4cmから5cmの大輪の花を咲かせ、花弁の色は紫紅。オオシマザクラとカンヒザクラの雑種にさらにカンヒザクラが交雑した種であり、オオシマザクラ由来の大輪の花と、カンヒザクラ由来の紫紅の花弁の色と早咲きが大きな特徴である。東京の花期は通常は2月から3月上旬で稀に早い年には12月に開花することもある。原木のある静岡県河津町での花期は2月頃で花期が1ヶ月と長い。野生では花粉の媒介者となる虫の活動が始まる春よりも大幅に早く咲くと子孫を残せないため、本州の野生種のサクラには寒い時期に咲かない仕組みがあるのだが、カワヅザクラは本来は本州に自生しないカンヒザクラが交雑することによって花期が早まったと考えられている。極端な早咲きは野生では淘汰される不利な特質だが、カワヅザクラのような栽培品種ではその珍しい特質と花の特徴がむしろ好まれて接ぎ木などで増殖されている。
