【10月11日（金）まで！】 愛媛県砥部町出身、マリメッコのデザイナー石本藤雄さんの展覧会

2010年 フィンランドの芸術家に贈られる最高位
「フィンランド獅子勲章プロ・フィンランディア・メダル」を受賞した一人の日本人デザイナーがおります。
石本藤雄さん (いしもと ふじお、1941年～)は、
フィンランドのマリメッコ社のテキスタイルデザイナーとして活躍したデザイナーで、
実は、砥部焼の有名な愛媛県砥部（とべ）のみかん農家で育ったのだそうです。

Pro Finlandia-medal is the most treasured prize for artists in Finland. Mr. Fujiwo Ishimoto who was textile designer of marimekko received the medal in 2010. Mr. Ishimoto was born and raised in farm house of mandarin orange at Tobe town, Ehime pref., Japan. Fujiwo Ishimoto who received the Pro Finlandia Medal has contributed to Finnish design and applied arts for almost forty years and promoted Finnish design abroad, especially in Japan.

マリメッコの公式サイトにも、「初めての仕事： 農作業-田舎で育ったので。」とあり、
石本さんが手がけた美しいマリメッコの柄の背景には、故郷 砥部の風景が潜んでいるかもしれませんね。
そんな石本さんの故郷における初個展が愛媛県美術館で開催されます。

He said that “The first job : farm work. ” in the official website of “marimekko”. Perhaps, You can find some scenery of his home town in his beautiful textile works. The first exhibition in his home pref. will take place in Ehime pref. museum.

これまであまり日本で紹介されたことのなかった石本さんの創作活動を
「地元愛媛県の人たちに知ってもらいたい」という熱い思いをもった有志によって実現したのだそうです。
素晴らしい！これは必見の展覧会です。お見逃しなく。

Because he have worked in Helsinki, We have not as yet had the opportunity for seeing his creative works in japan. The local volunteer group who is passionate about informing local people his beautiful works complete their ambition of the exhibition. That’s great!! Don’t miss the chance!
