徳島県神山町で毎年開催されている「神山アーティスト・イン・レジデンス」の一環でBluetooth接続すると好きな音を出すことができる鳥居型アート作品「Karaoke Torii（カラオケ鳥居）」が2017年1月11日に公開され、Twitterなどネット上で話題になっております。

徳島LEDアートフェスティバルにも出展されていたドイツ在住のアメリカ人アーティスト、Benoit Maubreyさんの作品です。

野外にスピーカーでできた鳥居あらわる　Bluetoothで好きな音も出せて気持ちよさそう – ねとらぼ

Bluetooth接続すると鳥居から好きな音が出せる！　スピーカーを積み上げた鳥居型のアート作品「Karaoke Torii（カラオケ鳥居）」が、1月11日に徳島県神山町で公開されました。神山町におけるアートプロジェクト「神山アーティスト・イン・レジデンス事業」の一環となります。

制作したのはドイツ在住の米アーティスト・Benoit Maubreyさん。年末年始に神山町に滞在中、2015年に芸術祭「神戸ビエンナーレ」で一定期間展示していた同作品を、1年ぶりに神山町で長期の常設展示用として新たに作り直したそうです。

野外で数十台ものスピーカーが鳥居の形を成している光景は圧巻。日中のみ電源が入っており、マイクや音楽機器などをBluetooth接続すれば鳥居から音を出せます。さすがに騒音や電力の消費量が大変なので、スピーカーすべてではなく上部からしか音は出ませんが、これだけ大掛かりな鳥居から自由に音を出せるのは気持ちが良さそう。

すでにTwitterでは作品の写真が5000回以上リツートされるなど注目を集めています。その奇景に「通称『オーディオ神社』としてマニアの集う場所になると推測」「マッドマックスのトレーラーみたいだw」とさまざまな声が寄せられています。

　防水加工を施しており、機器が壊れるまで展示する予定。向こう数週間は10時から16時まで誰でも音を出せるよう設定されています。場所はコワーキングスペース「神山バレー・サテライトオフィス・コンプレックス」の駐車場の下段あたり。

徳島LEDアートフェスティバル

ラウドスピーカー、光センサー、LED照明、受信装置を取り付けた踊り浴衣に身を包んだ、阿波おどりの踊り子たちのモバイル・マルチメディア・パフォーマンス。無線受信機を通じて「ぞめき」が鳴り響き、着用可能なLED照明（音を光に変換するセンサを利用）が、音に反応して浴衣を発光させます。

A mobile multimedia performance with Awa Odori dancers wearing Obon costumesequipped with loudspeakers, light sensors, LED lighting and receivers. Musical instruments are played through the electroacoustic costumes via wireless receiver system. Their wearable LED lighting (using sound-to-light sensors) light up the costumes according to the sounds that they play. Additionally the performers can use other sensors to react to the lighting and sounds around them.

Benoit MAUBREY
Benoit Maubrey is a contemporary American artist born in 1952. While Maubrey falls under the technical title of a sculptor, he labels himself as the creator of”electroaccoustic sculptures.” These sculptures combine both three-dimensional work and sound in different variations of performance and sculpture. he has made contributions to the fields of dance, sculpture, sound, and technology by combining all three in his “Audio Ballerinas. The “Audio Ballerinas” are particuarly important because not only do they eliminate the distinct separation between the performer and the audience by the stage, they also allow the dancers to create the music and dance at the same time. This is vastly different from percussion dance groups because they create a new auditory and visual language in the art world.
