水都大阪を楽しく、魅力的にするさまざまな取り組みで活躍する「水都大阪サポーター」「水都大阪レポーター」を募集します。
サポーター活動を通じて自ら楽しい取り組みを生み出し、水都大阪をもっと、もっと、おもしろくしてくれる。

What is the Aqua Metropolis of Osaka?：AQUA METROPOLIS OSAKA

The city of Osaka is supported by water transportation, which has allowed it to develop as an economic and cultural hub. Life in Osaka has always been connected with its waterfront, which has been like a place of birth for all that Osaka is, and a driving force of development for the city.

The idea of Osaka as a “city of water,” with its energetic scenery of life centered on the rivers, had almost faded to a distant memory. But now in the 21st century, various projects are underway, aiming to restore the waterfront areas to the lively and active places they once were.

And now, Osaka is once again growing closer to the water, filled with vitality as it evolves and lives in harmony with water. The city of Osaka will restore its status as an Aqua Metropolis as a matter of civic pride. Building up Osaka’s charm as an Aqua Metropolis, this project is focused on reevaluating the city’s relationship with the rivers, which are a source of life-giving water and also help the city develop culturally.

水都大阪とは：水都大阪 – AQUA METROPOLIS OSAKA

大阪は、水運に支えられて経済と文化の中心的都市として発展し、明治の頃には“水の都”と呼ばれた。古くは難波津（なにわづ）と呼ばれた港が大陸、諸国との交易拠点として栄えた飛鳥時代までさかのぼる。

そして、いま、大阪では、かつての遠い記憶となりつつあった“水の都”としての川に寄り添う暮らしのあるいきいきとした風景を取り戻そうと、市街の水路ネットワークや水面のポテンシャルを発揮させ、大阪の水辺を活気あるにぎやかな場へと再生するための様々な試みを展開している。
21世紀以降、大阪ではこれまで、世界でも稀な地形である、川が都心部をロの字にめぐる「水の回廊」を中心として、水辺のシンボル空間や船着場の整備、護岸や橋梁などのライトアップなど、さまざまなプロジェクトが進められてきた。

そして、今、都市づくりのエンジンとして、大阪が誇るべき資産である河川空間を活用した水都大阪再生のムーブメントがさらに加速しようとしている。大阪という都市にとって水辺は生誕の起源であり、発展の原動力であり、大阪の暮らしは常に水辺とともにあった。そして、これから大阪は、再び水辺と寄り添い、水辺とともに生きる生命力あふれる都市へと進化していく。水都大阪は都市・大阪のシビックプライドとして、再生を遂げるのである。

水都大阪の魅力創造に向けて、生命の源である水と、人々の生活を豊かにし文化を発展させる場としての川との絆を見つめ直すとともに、水都大阪の軌跡をたどる。
