「ろうそく夜」は、徳島の山あいにあるお寺「東林院」の境内、大きな楠の木の下にひっそりとたたずむ、小さな喫茶店です。もともと東屋だった小屋を改装し、やわらかな光と風が通り抜ける、まるで森の中の隠れ家のような空間が広がります。 2人がけのテーブルが4つ並ぶ店内には、クスノキと桜の木が揺れる音がそっと届き、木漏れ日のなかで静かに時が流れます。

メニューは、10食限定の昼ごはんや、ケーキ、季節のソーダなど、素材を大切にしたやさしい味わいのものばかり。店主が「体が求めるもの」と向き合いながら選んだ、心にも体にもやさしい料理が並びます。ろうそくの灯りのように、そっと心を照らしてくれる「ろうそく夜」。静かな場所で、日常から少し離れた穏やかなひとときを過ごしてみてはいかがでしょうか。

‘Café Rousoku Yo’ is a small café nestled quietly under a large camphor tree within the grounds of Tōrin-in Temple, located in the mountains of Tokushima. Originally a small hut that served as a pavilion, it has been renovated into a space where soft light and gentle breezes flow through, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a hidden retreat in the forest. Inside the café, four two-person tables are arranged, and the gentle rustling of camphor and cherry trees can be heard, while time flows quietly under the dappled sunlight.

The menu features a variety of dishes made with carefully selected ingredients, including a limited-edition lunch, cakes, and seasonal sodas. The owner has chosen these dishes with care, focusing on what the body craves, to create meals that are gentle on both the mind and body. Like the soft glow of a candle, ‘Candle Night’ gently illuminates the heart. Why not spend a peaceful moment away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in this quiet place?

お寺の敷地内にあります。東林院（とうりんいん）、高野山真言宗の寺院。別名、種蒔大師。大谷焼の陶祖、萬七の墓があり、毎年11月の第2土曜日・日曜日に境内において、陶器市「大谷焼 窯まつり」が行なわれる。檜の寄木造りの木造弥勒菩薩坐像が、国指定重要文化財。


近くにある神社。重要文化財　宇志比古（うしひこ）神社本殿。徳島県内に現存する最古の神社本殿。天正年間（1573年-1593年）に長宗我部元親の乱入により社殿、古記録、社宝を焼失したが、後に再興されました。

「ろうそく夜」という喫茶室のオーナーさんと出会い、意気投合し、東林院の境内に小さなカフェスペースをつくる運びとなりました。もっと気軽に、お寺に遊びに来ていただきたい。もっと多くの方が、お寺で自由に楽しい時間を過ごしていただきたい。そんな思いもあり、古くなった小さな東屋を改装し、使っていただいています。東林院の境内に、まさに「ろうそく」のような温かい光を灯していただいた気がしております。当院ともども、どうぞお気軽にお立ち寄りいただければ幸いです。
