Busshozan train factory of Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad which is the local train of Takamatsu city, Kagawa pref., Japan. It has a history of more than 100 years.

京急線などの車両が船に乗って高松にやってきて、ことでん車両として第二の人生を送ります。製造していない部品を自分たちでつくったり、ことでんの線路幅にあわせて作り変えたり、それぞれクセの違う操作感をならしたり。多くの技術がこの100年以上の歴史を持つ工場で受け継がれ、鉄道車両に命が吹き込まれます。

Kotoden is the nickname of Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad Co., Ltd. that partly originated from Kotohira Dentetsu, the railroad that longitudinally traversed Takamatsu and connected to Kotohira, home to the holy place of Konpirasan. It opened in the early 1900s and still carries commuters and worshippers today.
The railcars with a nostalgic atmosphere were donated by other railroad companies in Tokyo and Nagoya that ran along these areas in the past. After more than 20 years of service, the railcars crossed the Seto Inland Sea and started a new life here in Kagawa.

Some of the railcars have been in Kagawa for more than 35 years, which is already longer than the length of their service in the former location. Generally, the service life of a railcar is said to range between 30 and 40 years. The railcars of Kotoden operate longer by dozens of years thanks to good maintenance. What is the secret to a long service life? We visited a railcar shop adjacent to Kotoden’s Busshozan Station.

Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad – Wikipedia

The Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad Co., Ltd. (Kotoden) is a transportation company in Kagawa Prefecture, which is on the island of Shikoku, Japan. With headquarters in Takamatsu, the company operates three passenger railway lines, as well as bus subsidiaries. It was established on November 1, 1943.

Kotoden was established by the wartime merger of rail lines in the Takamatsu area. Immediately after its establishment, it absorbed the bus transportation operations in the vicinity.

Aerial bombing destroyed some lines during the war. After the war, the company extended its line to Takamatsu Chikkō Station, a few minutes’ walk from JR Shikoku’s Takamatsu Station. Its network took its present form in the early 1950s.

The company traces its origins to 1909, when the Takamatsu Electric Railway was founded. This would later merge with other companies. One of those was the Kotohira Electric Railway, established in 1924. The third group of companies that became Kotoden began in 1910, and eventually through mergers became the Sanuki Electric Railroad.

The 1943 merger of these three companies resulted in Kotoden. A month later, it absorbed 16 bus companies as well as the bus operations of another railroad.

In 1997, the railroad was the first to introduce new track safety precautions in order to combat the rising number of suicides committed by jumping in front of a train. In the first year after new measures were implemented, the number of train suicides linked to Kotoden fell by 40%.

In 2011, celebrated its 100th anniversary.

仏生山工場 – Wikipedia
仏生山工場（ぶっしょうざんこうじょう）は高松琴平電気鉄道において琴平線、長尾線所属車両の検査、改修等を行う車両基地。

仏生山車両所とも呼ばれ、車庫機能も備えている。仏生山駅を挟んで両側に工場と留置線が設置されており、北側の検車・車庫施設は通称『北工場』、南側の検車・車庫施設は『南工場』と呼称される。車輪研磨装置等の重要検査設備は北工場に、洗車機つき洗浄線などの保守管理設備は南工場に配置されている。車両の入換や事故発生時に出動するデカ1形電動貨車は、通常北工場の留置線に留置されている。なお、毎年11月3日に行われる『ことでん電車まつり』で公開されるのは北工場のみで、南工場では通常の車両入換や出入庫を行うため、基本的に一般客は南工場に入ることはできないが、『列車に乗っての洗浄線通過体験』などに参加すれば、南工場内に入ること自体は可能なようである。

また、志度線の車両は通常今橋工場で検査業務を行うが、台車の重要な検査時等はトレーラーに積載して運搬し、仏生山工場で整備を担当する。そのため、線路が琴平線とつながっていない志度線車両の検査標記も、仏生山工場となっている。
