ロンドンの古い建築つながりで、
Rafael Vinoly の Battersea Power Station 再開発計画をメモ。
朝、雨が降っていたけどかまわず、バターシーパークへ。
ハイドパークの南、テムズ川の南岸にある大きな公園です。
着く頃には、透明になりかけてる雲の向こうに青空が見えていました。
森の向こうに見える４本の煙突がここのランドマークになっている発電所。
その周辺を、東京国際フォーラムの設計で有名な
建築家 Rafael Vinoly の設計で再開発するそうです。
この公園は、夏目漱石がロンドン大学に留学している時、
自転車で散歩していたそうです。
僕もひげをはやして真似をしてみようか。
ロンドンのマーケットというと、
PORTOBELLO や COVENT GARDEN が有名ですが、
ここバターシーパークはマーケットは観光地化していなくて、
いろいろと掘り出し物がみつかる面白いマーケットです。
